Opis ćwiczeńThe methods of sampling and preservation of water samples from lakes and ponds. Physical and chemical analysis of surface water: dissolved gases (oxygen, carbon dioxide), alkalinity, water hardness, calcium, magnesium, chlorides, COD-Mn, iron, manganese and all forms of nitrogen and phosphorus. Results calculation methods. Disturbing factors in every analysis and methods of their elimination.
Opis wykładówWater anomalous properties, Optic and thermal phenomena in surface water. Thermal classification of lakes, heat balance. Water movements - causes, consequentions. Mixing lake classification. European and american lake classification system. Gases dissolved in the water - sources and role of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the water. Oxic curves types. Typology of lakes. Trophic status and eutrophication. Dissolved substances in the water with the particular attention to N and P compounds - their role and cycles. Bottom sediment - chemical composition and role. Origin, evolution and succession of lakes.
Cel kształceniaThe aim of lectures is giving information about functioning of lentic water ecosystems and about the role of physical, chemical and biological factors in the processes, which is taking place in the lacustrine ecosystems. The ability of proper classifying of lakes taking into account thermal factors, circulation and trophic status. The aim of classes is gaining ability to make hydrochemical analysis of water and the interpretation of obtained results, knowing the methods of sampling and preservation of water samples.
